Is this a new project for the BBB or is there an existing solution in place that this is replacing? - Nov 25 2019 at 4:18 PMCity of Santa Monica
This is a new project for BBB. Although we do currently offer real-time information to our customers (which is available by texting, calling, using an app, or visiting a website) and we are piloting a cloud-hosted business analytics application, we do not have a complete SaaS solution in place that encompasses real-time information, customer alerts, and business analytics. See following response for more information.

1. For technical requirement b under section B, can you clarify what is meant by BBB’s data feed? Is this a GTFS-RT service alerts feed? Or is it a feed of operations data from the CAD/AVL system showing information such as detours, cancelled trips and delays? 2. Does BBB intend for the contractor to provide IVR, email, and SMS solutions for accessing service alerts? Or will the contractor need to integrate with existing solutions? 3. What proportion of service alerts does BBB intend to enter into the CAD/AVL system, and what proportion will be entered directly into the new service alerts solution? - Nov 25 2019 at 4:18 PMCity of Santa Monica
1. Under Section B, alerts could include data from multiple sources with the end goal of seamlessly providing customers with data that will improve their experience on BBB: this would include both service alerts through the GTFS-RT feed as well as operations data from the CAD-AVL system such as detours, cancelled trips, and delays. Other feeds, including the ones found at this link, may also be used for alerts. https://www.bigbluebus.com/About-BBB/For-App-Developers.aspx 2. BBB is open to considering a variety of solution types, including integrated or turnkey or proprietary solutions. 3. Where data to populate alerts is entered would depend on the solution offered (see #2) but one objective of launching a comprehensive alerting system is to streamline processes and optimize resources by eliminating the need to enter data into more than one system.

6. Cad avl questions Nov 12 2019 at 4:59 PM
- Anonymous Nov 12 2019 at 4:59 PMUser information is private
Is it accurate to say that BBB is looking for a solution that is not dependent on any new hardware ? If so , can you share any sample feeds which BBB will be providing such as vehicle positions , etc ? It would be extremely helpful to understand what existing feeds are available to use . If this exists already in the rfp I apologize - Nov 25 2019 at 4:18 PMCity of Santa Monica
Yes, BBB is seeking a cloud-hosted SaaS solution. No new hardware is being sought. Open feeds available to developers include the ones at this link: https://www.bigbluebus.com/About-BBB/For-App-Developers.aspx
