The City of Pittsburgh is soliciting qualifications of artists and artist teams to realize a public art project as part of the Arsenal Park Phase I Improvements located in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
Community involvement in the creation and/or execution of the artwork is expected. The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works, along with project partners, will connect the selected artist(s) with community stakeholders for inclusion in design workshops and/or installation.
The artwork(s) should be appropriate for an all-ages community space, with an emphasis on themes of community and play. Preference may be given to applicants who have experience developing artistic concepts that are responsive to the context of the neighborhood and promote playfulness.
This opportunity is open to artists who have successfully completed at least one prior project of significant impact and scale. Artist teams must be led by a participating artist and provide statements of interest from all members of the team.
This project is made possible by the City of Pittsburgh’s Percent for Art Program.
